Many families choose to adopt young children from abroad. Although Adoption Options does not place children internationally, we can help adoptive parents prepare for and complete an international adoption.
Information and Resources
Our staff is knowledgeable about all of the options available to adoptive parents. We can provide you with the information you need to decide whether international adoption is the right choice for you.
In addition, we can help you navigate the complex administrative and legal processes involved in adopting a child from another country.
Home Studies and Service Coordination
Adoption Options can also complete a thorough home study, which is a requirement for adopting from another country. Our home studies are recognized and accepted by the agencies in the United States that work in other countries to place children.
As part of the home study process, we will help coordinate services between Adoption Options and your placement agency. When the home study is complete, Adoption Options staff members continue to be available for additional resources or administrative needs related to the placement of your child.
Adoption Options social workers provide post-placement visits, which agencies require for those adopting from abroad. We also offer services to facilitate re-adoption through the United States judicial system, a process that leads to the procurement of a new birth certificate. In addition, we can help families tap into transcultural community networks, support groups, and playgroups on their return home.
